Here is a hand shaped Gerry Lopez Leopard Striped Gun built for Laird Hamilton.  This awesome monster wave chasing machine gun is like no other.  In the book ‘The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Surfboards and Collectibles” on page 301 there is a great shot of this board giving it the estimated value of $4,000 - $5,000 which we concur.  The book quotes, “Laird Hamilton is the quintessential big wave surfer, the best of the 1990s and perhaps of all time”.  Laird can be seen in the movie North Shore and Co Starred with Greg Noll in “Riding Giants”. This 9’ gun from the 90’s was built for Laird by another Legend, Gerry Lopez”.  Gerry Lopez is a surfing guro all his own, Mr Pipeline can be seen in the Movie North Shore, Big Wednesday and cutting forward to his own documentary “The Ying and the Yang” The winner of this board will also receive a free copy of the book, “The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Surfboards and Collectibles.

The board has Gerry Lopez in script across the deck with the Hawaii circle logo above.  This spear of a gun has a double leash plug to handle ferocious wipe outs when it was used at Jaws.  On the bottom of the board written in the foam “GL for Laird” and is powered by an expanded thruster glass on fin set up.   There are stress cracks all along the bottom from Lairds fearless entries and bottom turns from riding these Giant waves at Peahi on the Hawaiian Island of Maui.   This board is simply amazing – Iconic- Shaped by a master – Surfed by a master – all captured in one board and in one book.  THE PROVENANCE OF THIS BOARD IS OFF THE CHARTS PERFECT.  This board is up at NO RESERVE!!
