A 15% buyer’s premium is added to all winning final bids. All items must be paid in full on the day of the sale. No purchase may be removed until paid in full.
Bidding will start 9/28/22, at 1:00PM EST for the Coast to Coast Auction. - This is on-line only - concluding on October 8th, starting at 1PM.
Bidding for the electronic auction is all done on the website (and mobile). No texting or emails for placing bids will be allowed or accepted. The bidding will start at 1:00 PM sharp with lots concluding every 2 minutes except in cases of hot bidding we may extend the end time by an additional 2 minutes
Proxy Bidding is allowed and must be submitted online only.
THERE ARE A FEW RESERVES IN THIS FALL COAST TO COAST AUCTION
If there was a reserve on a lot and a proxy bid is higher than the reserve, the "reserve has now been" met will show.
Example, Lot #1 has a reserve of $ 3000,00. The highest bid is $ 2,000.00, but a proxy bid was just submitted at $ 4,000.00. The reserve bid has been met at $ 3,000.00, the next bid would be at $ 3,250.00. Any bid that is higher than $ 3,250.00 will automatically be met and raised by $ 250.00 un@l the limits of the proxy bid of $ 4,000.00.
Example. if there is a tie between two proxy bids, the bidder who placed the proxy bid first will have the lead.
Example, lot #2 has a bid of $ 1,000.00. Two proxy bids come in at $1,500.00 and $ 2,,000.00. The bidding is automatically raised to $ 1,600.00 by the proxy bid. (The bidder who bid $2,000.00 only pays 100.00 over the next closest bid and not the full $2,000,00)
Form of Payment
All payments must be made by: Cash, Bank Wire, Credit Card, Venmo or Money Order.
If payment is made with a Credit Card or Venmo, a 3% fee will be applied.
NJ Sales Tax will be collected on all Sales and associated costs, unless the board(s) is shipped out of state.
The Online Auction is programmed to accept bids in the following increments: Up to $2,500.00 - bids of $100.00 minimum are accepted
From $2500 to $5000.00 - bids of $250.00 minimum are accepted
From $5000.00 on up - bids of $500.00 minimum are accepted.
The method of shipping an item:
The item will be placed in a corrugated cardboard box with one layer of large bubble wrap for items up to ten feet in length for a fee of $150.00. For each additional foot over ten feet add $25.00 per foot.

Delta Cargo Air Delivery to Philadelphia Airport is $ 100.00 for domestic flight per board (Initial) and $150.00 for international flight.

3. If you would like to have your board driven to you, the cost is $75.00 per round trip, up to a maximum of four hours driving one way. Mike Miggs will deliver your boards personally.

The price estimates given have been drawn from previous auctions, collector sales and current going rates at the time of publication. However, it should be noted that these are purely estimates of the range of prices that items could bring. This shall give bidders an idea of what the bidding range is expected to be. There is no guarantee that prices will fall within this range. In some cases, individual items may vary in price, due to the exceptional quality or rarity of the item.
Many items will have no reserve. Reserve prices will only be revealed by the auctioneer during the live auction if the bid has not reached the reserve, to allow for the opportunity to let bidders know how much more they need to bid to get the item “sold”.
All auction items will be available for preview at NJVSA.com. You must register with a pre-approved credit card prior to bidding to receive a bidder number.
All sales are final upon the end time of each lot - “sold” to the highest bidder. The highest Bidder shall be the Purchaser and no Purchaser shall retract his bid once “sold”. All sales are final. However, a registered buyer’s bid (an offer) is not a sale when it is less than a minimum reserve on the item. It is the responsibility of the Purchaser once their item is “sold” to insure their purchases immediately or make arrangements for shipping consistent with the terms above.
** Any and all charges from Delta Cargo or trucking is the sole responsibility of the board owner.
Items A - E are prep charges, if being shipped.
Terms of Sale
All Purchases must include agreed arrangement for the removal / shipping. Or shipping shall be borne by the Purchaser by following the shipping rules on page 2.
There shall be no guarantees nor warranties, express or implied. Each lot will be sold “as is, where is”. The Bidder agrees that he has satisfied himself as to the acceptability of the lot(s) and is not relying on the Surf Legends liable for any representations.
Any dispute arising as to any bidding shall be settled by the Auctioneers at their sole discretion Auctioneer may, immediately, put the lot in dispute up again for sale. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse any bid which the Auctioneer considers to be an insignificant advance over the preceding bid.
The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse any applicant from bidding from bidding card privileges at this auction sale and revoke such privileges at any time.
Purchaser acknowledges that prior to the auction all lots were available for inspection on line.
Auctioneer may, at any time, at their sole discretion and without notice or liability to the seller
or bidder withdraw or cancel the sale of any lot.
A purchaser is deemed to have accepted a lot when they make a bid.
Every person at the Auction Site before, during and after the auction sale shall be deemed to be there at their own risk with notice of the condition of the premises, and the activities on the premises and the conduct of third parties, and the Bidder shall so advise his agents and employees who attend the auction as their representative. No person shall have any claim, demands or causes of action, whether at law or in equity, against the Auctioneers, Surf Legends, LLC, or Mike Miggs personally or against their respective agents, employees or principals for any injuries sustained or for damages incurred or for loss of property which may occur from any cause whatsoever.
The Purchaser/winning Bidder is solely responsible for the safe and timely pick-up and removal or shipping of any item(s) they may win at this auction.
Any unclaimed property remaining after the conclusion of the auction for which formal shipping arrangements have not been made will be assessed a $100 rental fee per item payable prior to the item being released. However, if the item is not retrieved and/or formal shipping arrangements are not made and paid for within thirty (30) days of the auction, the property will be considered abandoned and forfeited and considered to be a donation to Surf Legends, LLC and Surf Legends LLC will have no further responsibility to the purchaser to return the item or pay for the same.
These Terms of Sale may not be amended except by agreement in writing and signed by the accountants of Vitolo & Assoc., Surf Legends, LLC, and the respective Purchaser.
12. The terms and conditions of this agreement shall be interpreted and/or construed pursuant to the laws of the State of New Jersey. All persons who participate in this auction agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any dispute arising hereunder must be resolved in the jurisdiction of the State of New Jersey.
