9’11” Ramsey-Jay “Elevator”

During the hey day of nose riding, all the main manufactures came out with a “Step-Deck” nose rider.  Ramsey-Jay was a regional manufacture out of Newport Beach, California and the summer of ’66, had the likes of Gerry Lopez, Brian Livingston and Stanley “Savage” Parks, riding for them.  This was their interpretation of the ultimate Step-Deck.  High density colored foam t-band stringer.  Deep step deck way back to nearly the middle of the board.  Heavy kick in the tail and rolled up rails to slow the board down, for tip time.  Deep glass on pivot fin.  Probably one of the most distinctive logo’s of its era.  For a truly great example of the Step-Deck nose riding period, it doesn’t get much better than this one!
