When you come across a Bing Pipeliner your first reaction is,” YES -SCORE”.  But when Bing Copeland sends you the Birth Certificate and it says it was made for “DOUG CRAIG”, a lifelong member and former president of the San Onofre Surf Club amongst other wonderful things, now you’re sitting back and saying Holy Shit!    Then we receive a note from Bing Copeland stating “Doug and his sons, Don and Tom have all been friends and neighbors of mine for several decades.  This is a cool board. Here is the order for the board I built for Doug”

This board is 10’6 made for the long lines at San Onofre.  It has a ¼ inch redwood center stringer with two offset “T” band stringers with the serial number in the balsa 7917.  Its Sea foam green rails are certainly the sign of the times and is all original.  It does have a leash plug and beautiful blue glass on swept back fin.    This board is Excellence at its best, from its riding capabilities to its Historical significance.   We did speak with Doug’s son Don, owner of “Old Guys Rule”, and he is one of the nicest people you ever want to meet.  We felt very honored to have the conversation we did about his father, the board and life in general.  This is what it’s all about.
