Lot #52 Greg Noll Beach Break

Listing Image
Description

IT’S ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE!  FROM A VERY HIGH END AND RESPECTED COLLECTOR! NO RESERVE!

Here it is, an all-original Greg Noll Beach Break surfboard given to us from a highly regarded collector on the East Coast and this one is spectacular.  It has two red vertical stripes and six red vertical pinstripes on the deck with the ¾ inch redwood center stringer.  It has the Fat man logo 1/3 from the tail which is a clear indication that the board was made from 1960 – 1966, stated in the Greg Noll book, “The Art of the Surfboard on pg 166.  The red in the logo has a slight fade, which was normal for these logos during the early 60’s.  The bottom of the board has two red vertical stripes with a glassed on black fin.  The redwood and balsa tail block holds the serial #, which is hard to make out, but a possible indication that this was a special-order board.  This board does have some slight surface scratches, but a wet sand and polish will make this board look like new and stand at a condition of 9.9.   A board that mirrors this one just sold for $3,600 a few months ago, so we feel our Pre- Auction Estimate of $2,250 - $2,750 is quite conservative.    Don’t let this one get away.. Who knows when you will find an all original in this condition again for sale at no reserve.  Good Luck!!
